Excerpt from Studies in the Book of Daniel: A Discussion of the Historical QuestionsThis volume is concerned especially with the objec tions made to the historical statements contained in the book of Daniel, and treats incidentally of chronological, geographical, and philosophical questions. In a second volume, it is my intention to discuss the objections made against the book on the ground of philological assump tions based on the nature of the Hebrew and Aramaic in which it is written.
